IT Release Manager is responsible for the direct activities to ensure that up to 6 TS software products meet quality standards and performance objectives within defined time and budget targets.
This role defines release activities and trains the development organization on building release tasks into their product backlog. On a day-to-day basis, the Release Manager facilitates agile release meetings and retrospectives and provides process support to software development manager and product management in executing and managing release and final delivery.
The IT Release manager is also responsible for implementation of release management approach & process and improvement projects in this area.
In this role you will report directly to the IT Director/CIO.
Knowledge skills/experience required
  • Typically, a IT Master or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in IT/Transportation business related discipline.
  • 3-5+ years of relevant experience in a software development or delivery organization
  • 3+ years’ experience as a full-time Release Manager in the Scrum/Agile environment
  • Strong project & people management skills
  • Experience delivering more than 1 large product through all phases of the SDLC
  • Experience in teaming up with application development, QA, deployment and product teams to promote automation and process improvement
  • Experience using a Release Management tool, managing a release to completion, representing the change to the Change Management Board (CAB) or similar
  • Very strong communication, collaboration, feedback, and facilitation skills
  • Knowledge of QA and defect tracking tools and excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills
  • Capability to develop and maintain an effective network of relationships with people inside and outside IT & PROD division for example OPS / Support teams
  • Through understanding of Scrum and Agile principles, values, and practices will be an added advantage
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch
  • Experience of working in an intercultural environment
  • Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and methodologies (TOGAF) is a plus
  • Previous working experience in Logistics industry is a plus
